HistoryNora Nelson Peach Memorial Library was established in 1962 through the general donations of books by Nora and Nelson Peach, their friends and relatives. The establishment of the library gave the additional fillip to the promotion of Bible study among members of the congregation. Nora Peach had spent thirty-five years of her life in the service of the Methodist Church in Malaya, the great part of which was with KL Wesley and its related ministries. The Memorial Library was inaugurated in commemorate her passing, and it was decided that it would be housed in the Parish Hall of Wesley Church. Donations received from her relatives, friends and well-wishes both locally and overseas went into the purchase of religious books and the furnishing of a reading room for the Library. When her husband, Preston Peach passed away in 1968, more donations were received from the relatives of the Peaches, and a decision was taken to rename the Library the Preston and Nora Peach Memorial Library. From its inception, the Library had been managed by committed honorary Church Librarians including Mr. Tom Brown, Miss Lum Yueh Chan, and Lawrence Ho Khai Toon. In 2003, Mrs. Sophia Lim took over the management of the library from Lawrence, who moved on to become the Administration Director of the Church. 2003 to present:Since 2003, the library has undergone drastic revamp in both physical layout and in collection building. Dated and secular titles were weeded to give more shelf space for books and conventional media resources on Christian faith. It was also during this period that the library began its massive computerization project that took more than a year to complete. This computerization project was made possible through the help of a group of dedicated helpers drawing mainly from the Methodist Women membership. There is now an online public access catalog that library users can search the vast and varied library collection by author, title and subject.
